Our Gardens and Produce:
At Blessed to Bless Gardens LLC, we specialize in growing fresh, healthy, and chemical-free produce right in our own backyard. We believe every garden can become a source of nourishment and abundance when cultivated with love, knowledge, and respect for nature.
How We Started:
It all started when my wife and I were looking for a new home to start our lives together and we saw this adorable house in Rome, GA with a gazebo and a huge lot of empty space.
We initially envisioned beautiful flower gardens and a water feature, and maybe a few raised garden beds. We started with a few small raised beds built with concrete blocks. We grew vegetables and as our garden flourished, the Lord led us to share our bounty. I increased my skills by taking courses through the University of Georgia (UGA) Cooperative Extension, and learned more about the science and balance of organic farming and gardening.
As we made Rome our new home we found our church family and got involved with The Levee Church, a ministry hosted by 3LM of Rome. Levee Church reaches out to the growing homeless community in Floyd County and provides them with God's ministry.
As we spent time with the homeless community through The Levee Church, we began to truly see each person’s story, struggles, and resilience. Getting to know them on a personal level stirred something deeper in us; a calling to serve, not just with words or good intentions, but with the resources and blessings we’ve been given. It reminded us that being part of a community means looking out for one another, especially those who are too often overlooked.
That led us to donating our surplus to the Community Kitchen of Rome/Floyd County. The Community Kitchen serves an average of 150 meals DAILY and is always in need.
If you would like more information about the Levee Church you can find it on the 3LM of Rome website here: 3LM of Rome.

Frequently Asked Questions
Where is Blessed to Bless Gardens LLC located?
We are proudly based in Rome, GA, where we serve the local community and surrounding areas. Whether you’re in town or nearby, we’re here to help you nourish your body with fresh, organic produce right from our garden.
What produce do we have available?
It depends, we grow all year long, and produce is grown seasonally.
Typically, the cool temperatures of spring bring bountiful harvests of peas, carrots, bok choy, collards, turnips, spinach and lettuce. Herbs, like chives, cilantro, lemon balm, mint, oregano, rosemary, tarragon, and thyme thrive in the spring.
As spring turns to summer, we look forward to that first tomato sandwich of the year, along with cucumbers, basil, eggplant, summer squash, onions, garlic, peppers and potatoes.
The shortening days and cooler temps of fall bring in the last of the summer crops as well as a harvest of winter squash and another round of lettuce, spinach, bok choy, turnips, and collards.
We take this time to plant the cold hardy vegetables like brussels sprouts, broccoli, cauliflower, and carrots.
Follow our Facebook page, Blessed to Bless Gardens LLC, as we regularly post what's in garden now.
Are your gardening methods safe for children and pets?
Yes! Because we never use synthetic chemicals, pesticides, or fertilizers, our gardening practices are completely safe for children, pets, and even local wildlife. Our organically principled approach means you can enjoy your produce without worry.
How do you control pests without chemicals?
We rely on natural pest control methods that work in harmony with your garden’s ecosystem. This includes companion planting to repel pests, encouraging beneficial insects like ladybugs and lacewings that eat harmful bugs, manual removal of pests when possible, and using organic-approved products only when absolutely necessary. Our approach keeps our garden healthy and chemical-free while protecting pollinators and other beneficial wildlife.
Can I improve my soil with composting?
Yes! Franklin Delano Roosevelt once said "A nation that destroys its soil destroys itself." Soil is the foundation of our food.
Composting will naturally enrich your garden soil by adding organic matter that improves soil structure, water retention, and microbial life. Healthy compost brings your soil to life, helping plants grow stronger and more resilient.
However, to make sure your soil has all the essential nutrients your produce needs for optimal growth, a soil test is highly recommended. Soil testing identifies any specific nutrient deficiencies or imbalances. Combining composting with soil testing ensures your garden produces healthy, abundant harvests season after season. Here at Blessed to Bless Gardens, we compost every compostable item we can to return nutrients back to the earth.
What does 'organically principled gardening' mean?
It means we rely on natural methods and materials to grow our produce, avoiding synthetic chemicals, pesticides, and fertilizers. By working with nature rather than against it, we help build healthy soil, support beneficial insects, and create a sustainable garden environment that’s safer for you, your family, and the planet.
Do you grow produce year round?
Yes! We do several winter crops such as greens, brassicas (broccoli, cauliflower, etc.) and root crops!
Do organic gardens produce as much food as conventional gardens?
They absolutely can, and often do! While organic gardening focuses more on soil health and sustainability than speed, healthy soil and balanced ecosystems usually lead to resilient plants and abundant harvests over time. The produce may grow a bit slower initially, but it’s typically tastier, more nutrient-dense, and better for the environment.
What does OMRI mean?
In organic farming, OMRI is a nonprofit organization that reviews and lists products, like fertilizers, pest controls, and soil amendments, that are allowed for use in certified organic production under the USDA National Organic Program standards.
So, when you see "OMRI Listed®" on a product, it means it has been reviewed and approved as suitable for organic farming and gardening.
What types of vegetables grow well in Rome, GA.
Many vegetables and herbs thrive here, including tomatoes, peppers, squash, beans, kale, collards, basil, and parsley. We grow a wide variety of crops, many of which are not available in your local grocery store!
How do I get started growing my own produce?
We recommend starting with a soil test, choosing plants suited for your area, and planning your garden layout. We’re happy to guide you step-by-step through the process!
Do you offer garden design services?
Yes! We offer customized garden design services tailored to your personal preferences and the unique conditions of your space. Every design is crafted using organic principles to ensure a healthy, productive garden that thrives naturally in our local environment.
